Dr. Smith started at AFAEC in 2007 and worked full time until 2017, where she then began doing relief shifts with our hospital. However, she missed helping pets in an emergency situation and our hospital, so she came back full time in September 2021. After graduation from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001, she pursued her interests in emergency and critical care by furthering her education in 2002 at the North American Veterinary Conference. Helping animals and their owners feel better and giving them a better quality of life is her main passion. Dr. Smith also enjoys client education. The Smith family consists of two Boston Terriers, Ruby and Lilly, a crested gecko, free range chickens, her husband since 2001, and three teenage sons (the oldest is a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2026, and the twins are avid high school tennis players who also plan to attend Texas A&M University in 2025). Dr. Smith enjoys reading, gardening, jogging, camping, bicycle riding, and hiking.
